The Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) is an assessment taken by all clinical understudies before they are permitted to rehearse medication in Canada. The MCCQE is regularly alluded to as what could be compared to the USMLE that is utilized in the United States of America.

The Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination

The examination consists of two sections. The first section referred to as MCCQE Part I is always written on the first day. It is a computer-based test (CBT), and it is meant to thoroughly assess the medical knowledge and decision-making skills of the candidates. In this part, there are also two components that constitute this part (210 multiple-choice questions that are required to be answered in four hours and a test to assess the clinical decision-making skills of the candidates, which requires them to provide short solutions for 38 clinical cases). While the second part, the MCCQE Part II usually lasts for two days, and it is meant to evaluate the practical knowledge of the candidates by taking them through various clinical stations.

MCCQE Part I

During the first part of the test, the candidates are meant to express their knowledgebase based on two required areas: the medical care spectrum and the actual physician activities. Both categories are sub-divided into four domains. For the medical care spectrum, those categories are Health Promotion & Illness Prevention, Acute, Chronic, and Psychosocial Aspects. Then for physician activities, expect Assessment and Diagnosis, Management, Communication, and Professional Behaviors.

During the test, candidates will be expected to express their knowledge of clinical diagnosis, concepts regarding population health (along with the factors that determine these concepts). Candidates need to ensure that they have a good understanding of legal, ethical, and organizational issues of Canadian medicine. The collaborative skills of the candidates will be assessed to show that they can collaborate with other health practitioners, and communicate with patients and third parties, as well as managing their practice and allocate health care resources.

MCCQE Part II

The second part of MCCQE is a formal clinical practical-based examination taken for two days. In this test the medical abilities, such as skills, competence, and knowledge will be examined to ascertain the areas where each candidate can independently perform clinical practices. The MCCQE Part I is a prerequisite to Part II, hence, candidates must do well in the Part I to qualify for this second part. During the examination, candidates will progress through various stages and be taken to various clinical stations. Each of these stations tasks them to apply their practical medical knowledge, by creating clinical plans, and showing professional behavioral attributes expected of a licentiate.

Like Part I, the MCCQE Part II normally assesses the candidates based on the spectrum of medical care and physician activities, divided into the same domains as the Part I. On both days of this section, candidates will be faced with 12 clinical scenarios – eight of which will be assigned to them on the first day, while the other four will be taken on the second day. The MCCQE Part II elements two sorts of stations – the main kind requires 14 minutes to achieve, while the second requires only six minutes.

On the first day of the exam, only seven of the eight stations will be reflected on the scores. The eighth station is an additional pilot station that does not necessarily count for so much. The order at which to visit the stations will be communicated to the candidates prior to the time of the exam. In every station, candidates will be faced with actual patients and their scores will be computed according to their interactions with each patient. And then on the second day, each candidate will be paired up with other candidates for each of the four stations. They may also be reading tasks on both days.

It is conspicuous that the MCCQE is not to be undermined, but contrarily, it just requires so much focus as well as all the knowledge and skills amassed during medical education. Physicians from other countries may also be required to take this examination before practicing in Canada. Access to all required materials may not be possible due to time taken to gather academic resources from even the early years of medical school, to solve this problem QUPI has compiled the best available customizable MCCQE question bank to help candidates perform brilliantly in this important examination.

QUPI medical question bank comprises an extensive collection of medical questions that are currently over 10,000 practice questions, out of which a lot of them are directly related to the MCCQE. Our collection of MCCQE questions is continuously being updated almost daily to encompass more relevant questions and be more helpful to our subscribers.
